The Crown & Punchbowl

High St, Horningsea, Cambridge CB25 9JG, UK – 01223 860643

We were a walk-in having been rudely rejected at the pub down the road. Regardless, the first lady we spoke to was kind, warm and funny, asking us how our day was and doing her best to get us a table. We expected a small wait, but that was completely fine - it looked like they had a lot of bookings - but it didn't take us long to be seated. We decided to share the surf and turf, as well as a half carafe of red wine, and it was fantastic, everything was perfectly cooked, the prawns came apart without any fuss, the salad was great. The desserts were also equally tasty. I can see why it's so popular here, we had a fantastic evening and would definitely recommend it. We'll absolutely be going back in the future.

Nice place, great food. A bit fancy and pricey but very good.

The Waggon and Horses

39 High St, Milton, Cambridge CB24 6DF, UK – 01223 570471

After dropping of our 3 youngest children in milton, we were at a loss. So decided to try this pub. (Only one never been in) we ordered a meal. Staff were friendly, liked a banter, the place was clean and tidy. The beer was good. Our meals arrived fresh, hot and very tasty, not to expensive but very filling. We will definitely be going again.

The beer was ok good food and service thanks. I drank there for 5 months must have spent a £1000 but it was worth the money helped me get back to work

The Plough

Green End, Fen Ditton, Cambridge CB5 8SX, UK – 01223 293264

Lovely location next to the river, with lots.of space to sit and relax outside. We ate and sat inside as a group of 10 with small children and were well liked after by the staff. Highchair and kids menu were both available. Food was good, with an extensive menu including lots of options for vegetarians, vegans and those with allergies. We had a great time and are going back soon!

Having received a sarcastic comment from the owner I shall elaborate on my 3 star review. We specifically booked as we know this place gets busy because of its beautiful location by the river. It took ages to be seated despite numerous empty tables. It took ages for our order to be taken and we had to go and find someone. There was a wait for the food which you would probably expect on a busy Sunday. However the drinks arrived after the food which makes me think they had been forgotten. The meal was nice but I had the roast and the the crackling was soggy and the roast veg was burnt. I hope this was due to it being a busy Sunday.

Bollywood Spice

First time ordering a take away from here, the staff are warm and friendly- I was given 1st class service (as i collected my order) The rice was lovely, so was the chapati and the sauce around the lamb, However, the meat itself was quite hard to chew. I prefer my lamb much softer than this dish but I will be back because of how nicely presented the restaurant is and the service was exceptional, I am keen to try another dish. Very polite gentlemen that served me and my busy body son who is 2 years old. A very big thank you

Good food, reasonably priced. They gave us free poppadoms and dips for collecting. The meat thali was particularly good and great value for money. Would go back if in the area again

Fish and chips to die for! The fish just fell apart and real home made chips. And to finish a delightful chocolate cheesecake with sliced strawberries and chocolate sauce drizzled over. Lovely!

Visited on a Sunday Lunch time. Place reasonably busy. Good big menu selection available. Food plentiful on plate, hot and tasty. Only downside was the long delay delivering the food at every course. Pity as overall this is good place, and would go again.

Stow cum Quy Chinese Restaurants

Chung Hwa

6 Green Side, Waterbeach, Cambridge CB25 9HP, UK – 01223 863838

Delicious food, generous portions and quite inexpensive too. Even got a free bag of prawn crackers with our order that was ready in 15 mins on a Saturday night. Wish I was local so I could get food from here more often .

Decent Chinese, quite cheap, they don't have a website, but they have most of the usual stuff that Chinese take aways usually have.

Stow cum Quy Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Bridge

Clayhithe Rd, Waterbeach, Cambridge CB25 9HZ, UK – 01223 860622

It's OK, but we didn't get all the veg with the steak we ordered. The ice-cream trio tasted like the ice-cream had been refrozen. Won't be in a hurry to eat there again. Setting is lovely so a drink beside the river would be a good evening out.

I've been here many many times, I love the place and the food is often good - However, The Staff are always run off their feet, The waiting times vary from perfectly fine to super long. It's not the staff's fault - Management NEED to put more people out. sometimes its 2 staff manning 70 odd tables - rediculous.

The White Horse

12 Green Side, Waterbeach, Cambridge CB25 9HP, UK – 01223 505053

Pizzas were really good, staff was helpful and cleanliness was impeccable. They also set up an activity for children to make their own pizzas! Nice garden, but the play area for children could be improved.

Lovely, clean and friendly pub with eatery. Good food, nice surroundings and overall a very enjoyable experience. Lovely girls looking after us and would recommend to anybody looking for a comfortable meal or even just a drink. Excellent guys and thank you!

The Ancient Shepherds

5 High St, Fen Ditton, Cambridge CB5 8ST, UK – 01223 293280

First visit to this establishment. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We only had a drink but will definitely be back to try the food. The menu looked good and was reasonably priced. The place itself was done out very nicely. Looked clean and well kept.

Lovely gastro pub, very friendly and attentive service and a massive gin list. We came for a pop up restaurant evening with MJP, the food was lovely and great value. However, the food on the specials board, not served that night, also looked good. Will have to go back and give it a try.

The Plough and Fleece

High St, Horningsea, Cambridge CB25 9JG, UK – 01223 860795

This is a great little pub, fast friendly service, and the food is excellent. Unlike other places, they serve proper, filling size portions and the pub garden over looks fields. Perfect setting for a summer lunch or evening meal.

Nice quiet place. Good food, had a meal there and i enjoyed it. I found the beer expensive, i had a better shandy and it was over £4:00p.
