Best Western Premier Collection Quy Mill Hotel & Spa, Cambridge

Church Rd, Stow cum Quy, Cambridge CB25 9AF, UK – 01223 293383

4 of us went for Afternoon tea, 3 Gentleman's and 1 traditional tea were ordered. Staff were attentive but it was slow arriving considering it was booked in advance. Sandwiches on the traditional tea had been changed , but came with the original selection....soon changed though. The Gentleman's tea had some lovely items, especially the quails scotch egg and black pudding slice, but although there was a selection of nice crackers, toast and breads there was one thin sliver of cheese..... we had to eat them with just the chutney. The gentleman's relish was awful...incredibly salty and none of us ate it...we did ask the waitress to mention it to the chef for them to try it. A little pate and another cheese would have made it perfect (after losing the relish!!) The menu had apparently been recently changed.....a few tweaks and it would be great.

Room perfectly acceptable and comfortable with nice bathroom including jacuzzi! Did not try the gym/pool. Good to have electric car parking but it was in use initially so they need more than one socket. Summer - in the absence of air conditioning the only option was a noisy ceiling fan. Hard to open the curtains without being seen from the courtyard! "Continental" buffet breakfast not fantastic. Some of the light bulbs were a bit dim and tired in the room. Would still go again though.

Cambridge Country Cottages

Clayhithe Rd, Cambridge CB25 9JD, UK – 07765 153262

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Cambridge- perfect country base for exploring the City. Close to a park and ride and good local pubs. The barn itself was beautifully finished with lots of charming details! We would definitely return!

Wow, amazing stay, thank you! :)

Leverton House Bed and Breakfast

734 Newmarket Rd, Cambridge CB5 8RS, UK – 01223 292094

Just stayed 1 night before a early hospital appointment. Very clean, warm and inviting. Variety for breakfast too many thanks will be back

Very nice B&B. Room was comfortable and spotless, the WiFi was very fast (about 85mb I think?), breakfast was delicious, home cooked and plentiful and the owner is engaging, friendly and extremely helpful. The location isn't central so may not be ideal for all, but I was working at the airport so it was perfect for me. Parking is available and plenty of places are nearby to eat or drink.

Stow cum Quy Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Plough

Green End, Fen Ditton, Cambridge CB5 8SX, UK – 01223 293264

Lovely location next to the river, with lots.of space to sit and relax outside. We ate and sat inside as a group of 10 with small children and were well liked after by the staff. Highchair and kids menu were both available. Food was good, with an extensive menu including lots of options for vegetarians, vegans and those with allergies. We had a great time and are going back soon!

Having received a sarcastic comment from the owner I shall elaborate on my 3 star review. We specifically booked as we know this place gets busy because of its beautiful location by the river. It took ages to be seated despite numerous empty tables. It took ages for our order to be taken and we had to go and find someone. There was a wait for the food which you would probably expect on a busy Sunday. However the drinks arrived after the food which makes me think they had been forgotten. The meal was nice but I had the roast and the the crackling was soggy and the roast veg was burnt. I hope this was due to it being a busy Sunday.

The White Swan

Excellent range of gins. The landlord does a small selection of top quality food, all freshly prepared. Occasional, hosted events are great fun.

Nice, friendly, village local, good choice of beers... and Gins if your not driving.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Amber Lodge Guest House

664 Newmarket Rd, Cambridge CB5 8RS, UK – 01223 293481

I needed a bed overnight unexpectedly. Very friendly and accommodating, clean, well appointed and quiet. Perfect. I didn't realise that all the hotels would be full, so this place was an absolute godsend and much preferable to the succession of centralised booking systems that rejected me. Recommended, very convenient for Cambridge Airport.

Is a great guest house clean and tidy and very friendly

The Old School House Rooms

9 Green Side, Waterbeach, Cambridge CB25 9HW, UK – 01223 861609

Fantastic experience. The room was clean and modern. Decorated to a high standard. The host was great, friendly and helpful. We met the hosts dog (our preference, not always available 😀 ), Isla was wonderful. A great indication of how friendly this establishment is. We only stayed one night to be close to family at Christmas, but would be a great base for longer stays visiting Cambridge and the surrounding area.

Me and a colleague stayed here for a night in between jobs. We were greeted by the owner and shown our room. Not a very large place but it has everything it needs. Very nicely decorated and the amenities were good. My omelette for breakfast was the best one I've had in a long time and both owners really seemed to care about the place and the guests that stayed. I would strongly consider going back with my better half if the opportunity ever arises. 10/10 would recommend.

Clayhithe Road, Horningsea, Cambridge CB25 9JE, UK – 01223 440905

We booked this site due to it's location as we were attending a wedding at the village pavilion. We had a fantastic weekend and absolutely loved the site we didn't need ehu but it is there if you do. There is a beautifully kept toilet block with a generous sized toilet room and shower room with washing up facilities. The field is flat and all grass with more than enogh room for a 5 van site. The owners are friendly helpful and accomodating. All of the above was helped along by one of the nicest weekends ever in May. Highly recommended. A+

Lovely campsite, quiet, very clean and exceptional facilities. Will definitely call again.

Shelters are excellent - very warm and have headroom. Only improvement would be having water onsite!
